A work of art for your sofa!
This is a cushion cover featuring a picture of a stag (or elk or reindeer... ), which has been appliqued using a variety of recycled fabrics.
The pieces of fabric which make up the stag have been cut out and finished - either by turning the edges under (for lightweight fabrics) or by zigzagging round the edges with a sewing machine (for heavier fabrics). The antlers have been machine-stitched to the front of the cushion and the rest of the stag has been sewn together by hand. The cushion front and backs have been sewn together by machine and finished neatly inside using an overlocker.
The background on the front of this cushion cover is made from vintage Collier-Campbell fabric, reclaimed from a pair of curtains. The design is called Rosscarbery Stripe and it dates from the 1980s. The back of the cushion cover is another vintage fabric - this one is a woven geometric design in orange and metallic orange. It has a central opening fastened with outlet 2 buttons. Because of the mixture of fabrics used, it's not washable and should be spot-cleaned if necessary.
It measures 45cm x 45cm (18" x 18"). Please note that this listing is for the cushion cover only. Posting cushion pads increases the postage costs considerably, so it's best if you source your own cushion pad locally - 45cm x 45cm is a standard size.
All of my cushion covers are unique - I use the same design, but vary the fabrics each time.
Go on - treat yourself!
