Here is a beautiful Vintage Purple Violet Velvety Formal Purse or Elegant Hand Bag in the Mad Men style from my Grandmother's estate collection. I don't think it has ever been used. It is absolutely gorgeous and luxurious and an awesome color of purple or violet to boot! The 3rd picture shows the purse propped on my knee and I have a Lavender dress on,, so you can compare color. (PLEASE NOTE that the color will vary on different computer screens so the best is can describe this color is a deep lavender to the purple side. Please be sure you want this purse before purchase, no refunds, exchanges or returns policy for my vintage items) I will describe it to the best of my ability so ask questions if needed.There are pictures with the flash, which appear more blue and pictures without the flash which are purple. It is made of a very luxurious, soft velvety feeling material with a velvet look and feel, which I think is a polyester padded fabric. The frame and hardware is gold brass, the inside lining is black satin and in excellent condition looks unused, no rips or tears or stains. The closure is exceptionally great, it is a very large Aurora Borealis Crystal bright and sparkling with gold filigree setting, and is the snap close type, works perfectly. The purse is as an envelope type shape that sits up alone, and opens up really wide so you can carry lots of stuff in there. It measures 14" long x 6" tall x 2-1/2" across the bottom. It opens up to 6-1/2" wide. Has a pocket inside also on one side. The body of the purse is a thin vintage plastic I believe, covered with the padded velvety material and the handle is also the same sewn material over the plastic body. The only flaws that I can find in this lovely purse is a little bend in the bottom, which is not a problem or noticeable and would straighten out after sitting filled for a while, and a small slightly faded area at the top of the purse on one side, which is also not noticeable outlet, also there are a couple of tiny dents in the front on one side which can be seen in the 1st picture if you look hard and one at the bottom none of which would not be noticed unless you are inspecting it closely. This could probably be straightened out with a steamer, however, this does not hurt the beauty of the purse at all. This purse is a very lovely and rarely seen color, it's just great! It would make a great purse for any formal occasion for dressing up for Valentine's Day dinner or Easter or even Christmas celebrations or church.
