Although these prints are captured in a digital format, the creation process is a painstaking effort typically requiring several months of research. There are no shortcuts or copy-pasting. Everything you see has been constructed from scratch in a digital environment using original plans obtained from the ship builder or design agent.

All prints are plotted on durable matte finish polypropylene film which will not distort or yellow with age.

All prints are unframed and are shipped rolled in tubes.

A little about the USCGC HEALY...

This print captures the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter HEALY (WAGB-20). At the time of her delivery HEALY was the largest U.S. icebreaker ever built. Unlike previous icebreakers built for the Coast Guard she was built specifically with scientific research missions in mind, boasting an impressive suite of science labs outlet, deck machinery, and accommodations for 50 scientists.

Side-launched into the Mississippi in November 1997, she was the last cutter built by the now-defunct Avondale Shipyard. Her design featured a sophisticated diesel-electric propulsion plant with large cyclo-converter drives. She remains in active service, and can be seen regularly along the waterfront in downtown Seattle where she is homeported.
