This sterling silver band has a clean outlet, modern, and very comfortable wrap around design, statement enough to wear alone but also simple enough to wear with other favorite rings. That it combines sterling silver with a 22kt gold ball accent is also bonus when comes to mixing and matching out of your jewelry box. The wrap around design was created using the lost wax casting process which is described below. The center front is 9/16” in height and tapers to about 3/8” in the back for comfort. Total weight is about 11 grams.
The origin of this lost wax cast ring was the labor and time intensive process of forming a wax model by hand identical to this ring. Patience and a certain amount of dexterity with tools were also necessary to create this design in hard wax. Molten recycled sterling silver was centrifugally injected into a mold made around the wax model. Once the metal cooled lots more work was involved in refining this piece into what you see here. This process creates one of a kind jewelry pieces. Using recycled silver reduces the need to mine this precious metal from Mother Earth.
