In North Keppel there is a brook where the outlet local heron resides. He always has such rumpled feathers and a wry look about him. He seems about a hundred years old. Whenever we see him we tiptoe closer, hoping that perhaps he will share a little wisdom with us. It is never long though before he transforms, like the old wizard he is, into an elegant creature of the air. I am always left speechless.
