The Ashton-Drake Galleries "Jo" is an original issue in the Little Women, designed by artist Wendy Lawton, and produced under the hallmark Ashton-Drake. The edition of "Jo" ended forever in 1995, at which time molds for the doll were broken and no more porcelain was made after that time! She is 14" tall and comes to you new in the box complete with Certificate of Authenticity, hand tag and other papers! "Jo" is wearing Civil War era style costuming including plaid jacket and skirt with black braiding trim, white cotton blouse with cuffs and pleated sleeves, and black high button boots. She wears her hair in a snood, just as Louisa May Alcott described it - bundled into a net to be out of her way. "Jo" has a fair complexion, a sweet blush of innocence, and a smile that radiates a glow of health and good fortune. She has deep blue eyes that sparkle with zest, courage and eagerness for adventure she finds in the book she loves to read, Pilgrim's Progress.
