Rare Antique outlet Ivanhoe Romance Alta Edition by Sir Walter Scott (1800's)

This listing is for (1) copy of Sir Walter Scott's romance book Ivanhoe. It was published by Porter &a Coates in Philadelphia.

It is rare and is also antique, published in either 1876 or 1890. It has no publication date listed inside, but I have researched it a little bit and saw that it was given either one of these years.

This is a specific edition called the Alta Edition, which is inscribed on the front cover.

The book is hardcover and is missing a dust jacket. It has a beautiful, amazing cover, which is what got outlet me to find this book and purchase it. It has intricate and elaborate engravings in black. The title is on the spine in a gold color box also with the word "illustrated" on the spine.

The title page in the book says "from last revised edition containing author's notes, final corrections, etc.

It has 389 pages, and I went through the entire book to make sure all pages are there and checked each page for markings. In addition to the 389 pages, there are pages in the back of book that are advertising.

Quality--As you can see from the pictures, the first few pages are completely detached from the book, but none of the pages that have the story on then are torn out. The front illustration page and title page are what is separated. If there were any other pictures or pages before the beginning of the story, I do not have them.
You can also see that I took a couple of pictures to show some pen marks and pencil marks. There are 10 pages that I found throughout the book that have those similar type of markings and one has a stain. None of them make the story unreadable.
From age, the pages have definitely tanned, the spine has become loose and overall the book isn't in the best condition. Please remember though that it is from the 1800's! These things will happen wth age. The pages are very brittle and must be handled with care.
