This is a lovely RARE colla wood, which is petrified and sometimes opalized wood that's found in only one spot in the world; Turkey.

This cab has a beautiful rusty brown speckled inside of a creamy white and almost pink base. It has some chatoyant spots on one side. This really is a dreamy stone with great energy. It's the perfect size for a big statement ring, pendant or cuff! Very versatile if you can dare part with it once it's in your hands. :)

ABOUT COLLAWOOD (COLLA WOOD):

Colla Wood was found in 2012 in central Turkey near the town of Zile, by people who were prospecting for gold.

As the fossilized wood fractured, water containing copper-related minerals flowed through the fractures, leaving deposits with their distinctive colors. Some of the minerals are azurite with its deep blue color. Other minerals are malachite, with its deep green color. Still other minerals are chrysocolla, with its light blue coloration. Some of the surfaces are opalized, leaving outlet a chatoyance that changes colors and brightness as your perspective changes.

The Turkish government has halted all mining operations of this material thus making it extremely rare. No more of this material is allowed out of Turkey.
