This large Organdy tablecloth has completely handmade applique'.
I'm sorry my photos don't do this piece justice. Also it's much whiter than appears in photos.
Not professional, most likely made at home, all with buttonhole stitching.
I can't imagine the hours she put into making this.
It is sheer, though crisp and certainly a natural fiber, I believe handkerchief weight linen.
It is hand stitched of 3 panels, before the applique' was added. Look closely at the next to last photo to outlet see the tiny stitches joining these panels.
The motif has a stylized fleur de lis throughout.
I found this in France, and have safely laundered and ironed it, and it is now very white. I only found one little weak spot, shown in last photo.
So unique for many occasions, especially weddings!
