French vintage Mossant fedora hat, charcoal grey, size 55.5 cm.
Here we have a fabulous charcoal grey French vintage fedora hat from the world famous Mossant of Paris. It has a matching grosgrain ribbon around the crown, white satin lining and interior leather head band. This hat is in lovely condition, I would say hardly worn.
Quite hard to date this hat as it is in such amazing condition but I would say it is second half of the twentieth century, though this style of hat is of course timeless for vintage wearers and would pair well with many vintage outfits. It has Mossant labels on the inside lining and also on the leather inner band, and it also outlet has the name " Bras chapellerie FIGEAC" on the leather band, who I would think were the retailer.
There is also a sizing label on the inside of the hat 56, and 4 1/2. The hat actually measures 55.5 cms.
A fabulous vintage hat to add to ones collection from one of the best Parisian hat makers, and a lovely dark grey colour, very flattering.
There is no damage, rips, holes or fading on this hat, but on the inside there is a faded yellow mark on the lining in a circular shape, could have been a label previously at some time. The condition really is very good for a vintage piece and very wearable.
