Vintage Handmade Warranted Signed Boxed Set of 6 Sheffield England Stainless Steel outlet Ivorine Large 9.25 inch Table Dinner Knives - 31.X-SS

A vintage boxed set of six Warranted Sheffield Stainless Steel hand crafted large 9.25 inch Table Dinner knives with beautiful ivorine handles. The matching set of English silverware Knives are all the same size and design.

The vintage Table knives are engraved with “Warranted, Sheffield, England, Make, Stainless Steel, 31.X-SS”. The brown cutlery box is a little battered and has various pieces of hand written information such as the owner's address and says “Table Knives” on the edge. Part of the social history of these knives.

Each long Table knife is approx 23.25 cm (9 1/4 in) long. The boxed set weighs 350 g (12.3 oz).

Ivorine was widely known as Celluloid and was given a number of trade names by those factories that produced it, the best known of which is Xylonite or Xylo for short.

The vintage ivorine knife set is in excellent vintage condition with no dents. The knives are all are solid, stable and perfectly usable. The handles are marked in places consistent with age. The knife blades have light scratches, but appear to be mostly unused. There may be wear consistent with normal use as this is a pre loved set of knives.

Sheffield Cutlery Craftsmanship at its finest. The knives are handmade stainless steel cutlery with a mirror finish.

The cardboard box is in good condition with obvious signs of use, wear and tear. Please view photos for condition. Probably outlet kept in the box since they were made.

These vintage Table knives are probably 1940s and are still bright and shiny.

A wonderful set of high quality handmade vintage Sheffield stainless steel hand ground knives with amazing ivorine handles. Great to bring these out at meal times to impress your friends. Ideal for period homes and country kitchens.
