Deep cobalt blue glass vase or drinking beaker, by Moser Glass Company, possibly a design by Josef Hoffmann (Austria 1870-1956).
Measures 3 1/2" high and diameter.
Flared form, 6 panels that end in arched form below lip of glass, concave base.
Unsigned.
Heavy glass, deeper blue near the bottom where glass is thicker, has nice ring, so has flint content.
Good condition, signs of outlet wear on bottom, very slight abrasions to surface. There are a few lines in the sides, from the manufacturing process, they are original to the piece and are not scratches. Some small bubbles or inclusions, also from the manufacturing. Very tiny "flea bites" to base. As the item is vintage, it is sold as is.
Possibly a design by Josef Hoffman, who created items for the Wiener Werkstatte, including glass, metal, wood, furniture, and jewelry. Hoffmann was instrumental in the Arts and Crafts era, bringing his elegant simplicity to all his designs and art.
