Product code: 17th Century outlet Chinese Wedding Coin
17th century, Chinese wedding coin… I have done research on this coin and from everything I can tell, it is authentic. But, I cannot be certain. It could be a reproduction. All the research I have done shows this exact coin on eBay and listed with auctioneers describing it as authentic. The inside of the box says Kirchberg Jewelers Chicago. It looks identical to those coins. Part of the make up of this coin is copper. This was traditionally given to newlyweds to show them what to do after getting married, and if you look closely outlet, you will see couples in the act of procreating. A great wedding gift! A collectible, whether authentic or a reproduction. The last two images are from the research I did. The measurement of the chain from the point of the knot at the top of the coin to the clasp is approximately 14 1/2 inches. I am basing the price a little lower than what I have seen elsewhere and what Mercari estimates its value.
