Very Early Antique Vintage Wood Dumbells

Hand initialed by ? "H.B.P." on both. Very Light wear with great character. 1 LB. 3" x 9 1/2" (handle 3/4") This is probably the nicest and earliest pair in my collection. If you want a great example, this would be it. c.1880 -1890

(First Picture is straight on. Second picture is turned 180 degrees to give you an all around look and third picture shows initials hand carved into each).

Earliest examples had no manufacturer marks and often no weight marks.

There very many manufacturers in America that started producing them with variations in weight, size and style for Men, Women and Children.

I list size and weight of each listing and make note of general condition and markings, etc. outlet as I notice them.

All of my dumbells are original as found by me with only a light cleaning and a light coat of wax added for their protection.
