This is a wonderful vintage pair of Zuni snake eye turquoise earrings drop earrings with screw back findings. The drops are sterling silver, with 6 deep green turquoise cabochons set in sawtooth bezels for each earring. The stones are bordered with silver shot beads, and the two rows of stones are slightly offset so they are parallel but have different start and end points. A classic style, very eye-catching and in lovely condition.
The earrings are stamped 'sterling' on the back of each drop, with no marks on the actual finding and finished with screw back findings. The earrings measure 1 1/4" high from top of the finding to the bottom of the drop and are 5/8 wide. The screw backs appear to have a tarnish resistant finish, but the turquoise drops do have some patina front and back, adding a nice outlet contrast to the blue green stones.
They are a classic pair that will make a wonderful addition to any jewelry collection. And it would be very easy to update the findings if you prefer hooks, lever backs or another style.
