MY PROCESS:
I make these square gold earrings using the same techniques that gold smiths have used for centuries. I cut and forge the gold to form the squares, then solder on the posts. Next I begin the polishing process, which is done by hand in up to 9 stages depending on the amount of shine desired. Each pair is made to order to the customer's exact specifications. That is what I love about handmade!

14K WHITE GOLD:
Pure gold is too soft to be used for jewelry. Other metals are added to add strength and improve color. This is called an alloy. The percentage of pure gold in all gold alloys is standardized and is referred to by karat content, abbreviated to K. 14K white gold is 58.33% pure gold. It contains nickel which some people are allergic to.

14K PALLADIUM WHITE GOLD:
This attractive alternative contains 58.33% pure gold. Palladium is a precious metal in the platinum group and is alloyed with gold, instead of nickel. It costs a bit more but has a whiter color and is nickel free.
