A rare vintage stainless steel "Esotismo" Crocodile knife by Jean Marie Patois
Fabulous long line design with "Jean Marie Patois" signature on the tail end
This knife has the flat blade and not the serrated blade
This pattern, outlet Esotismo, (which in Italian means exoticism) was designed in 1988 by Jean Marie Patois, a French post modern designer.
His tableware was sold at high end department stores and museum stores such as the Museum of Contemporary Art.
It is also included in collections at museums such as the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian
The New York Times' 1992 recommended holiday gift columns had several references to his pieces
It was also part of the exhibition: FABULOUS FLATWARE – NON-TRADITIONAL TOOLS OF THE TABLE at the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum, Lafayette, Louisiana in 2011.
The knife measures approx 9.25" x 1" at the widest points
In excellent vintage condition with minimal scratching as can be seen in the photos.
