Product code: Extremely Rare 1920s Miami Florida outlet Watch Fob
This is an extremely rare leather & silver plated brass watch fob from the 1920s with older version of the seal of the City of Miami, Florida. In many years of collecting and living in Florida, this is the only one that I have ever come across. It has a leather strap, died black on the outside (natural color on the reverse) with a chrome plated buckle. The fob is silver plated brass which shows a little wear on the front and back (light scuffs, etc.), but has extremely sharp details on the seal itself: a sabal palm (palmetto) on the bluff that overlooks Biscayne Bay with a sailboat in the right background and a trio of seagulls in flight. The seal reads "The City of Miami/ Dade Co. Florida" on the outer circle and, outlet surrounding the palm, "Incorporated 1896." There are no maker's marks. Weight about 0.7 oz. Measures about 3.5" long; seal about 1.5" in diameter. A great piece of Miami memorabilia and Floridiana. A wonderful gift for those that collect watch-related items, as well.
