Gorgeous metal box & with Bakelite outlet lid, cameo medallion on lid and cedar box inside.

This is an absolutely gorgeous early 1900's box.

Shaped like a book, the body is metal. The cover is brown Bakelite and includes a center romantic medallion. Inside is a cedar box. This is a beautiful, original piece.

It measures 5.5” long x 4.5” outlet wide x just over 2” high.

The box inside is 4” long x just over 2.5” wide x 1.5” deep.

This is a heavy piece-weighing almost 2 1bs. It's missing 1 screw at base of hinge, should not be hard to replace (see picture).
