This 15" tall tree is inspired by, the hand dyed, and hand spun art yarns I created it with. The wool and mohair came from an Animal Rescue Sanctuary. This is a happy place, where unwanted animals spend the remainder of their lives being loved and cared for. They are sheered annually and their wool outlet sold to support their care. Creative Etys shop owner and fiber artist, Michelle, cleans, dyes, and spins their wool and mohair, into the art yarns, and fibers I use for almost every tree I make.
The frames I build the trees on, are hand made by myself. (except for the 3 tier forms, and a few of my original models.) My trees are all very soft. Squeezable is how I would describe it. As my technique over the past months has evolved, I am very happy with the results. Each tree now has feet and feet of soft wool or silk layers under what you see. And no glue has been used to attach the artistic fibers to the frame.
