The gorgeous Wilson Pro Strata-Bow wooden squash racquet is in great condition. While this richly-colored wooden racquet might be used for a game of squash, it is being offered in this listing as a decorative collectible. At the end of the head there is a white banner-style badge that has "STRATA-BOW" with "MADE IN U.S.A." just below. While they may not be noticeable in the photos, there is a small surface-stamped "CR" in black along with an incised "5" on the inside edge of the head just above the neck. On the side of the slender wooden neck it has "SQUASH RACKETS NOT GUARANTEED" in tiny black letters. The very-tight nylon or nylon-like strings with their retro off-white and blue color-palette are still fully intact and appear to be original to the racquet. Also, while it is hard to be absolutely certain, the very-intact slightly distressed black leather-wrapped handle is most likely original to the racquet. Along with this, the remaining sheen on the light gold-colored wood, richly-colored trim, and lack of scuff marks on or near outlet the end of the head indicate this gorgeous Wilson Pro squash racquet has barely been used. According to references, this gorgeous Wilson Pro squash racquet was most likely produced circa 1960's to mid-1970's. Furthermore, the lack of uniformity in the wooden slots around the head of the racquet may indicate more of an earlier custom/one-off production process as opposed to a quicker-paced assembly. The light gold-colored wood is most consistent with other "Ash" wood racquets produced by Wilson during the time period. Even though the length and width of the racquet was considered to be the "standard" size for squash racquets, the smaller surface area of the almost-round head made playing with this racquet much more challenging due to its smaller sweet-spot. However, according to references, seasoned players of squash appreciated - even preferred - the smaller sweet-spot to keep them on top of their game. While the slender-neck and round-head design was becoming less and less popular in the late 1960's, some references note that the style was still produced - even in the early 1980's.

There is a thin cut on the white to off-white colored butt-cover of the handle located on the outer right edge of the upper-case "W". Other than this, there are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repair places on this gorgeous Wilson Pro Strata-Bow wooden squash racquet. Along with this, the lack of warp and/or curvature in the racquet means it has been kept in an at-room-temperature environment. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the squash racquet - mainly in the form of slight distress and age. As can be seen in the photos, the red, black, and white-striped sticker bands have some slight distress - mainly noticeable around their edges and most likely due to age. Also, while the black leather-wrapped handle has some slight distress, the remaining gold-colored lines on the black leather are a great indicator of little use. In addition, there is some slight discoloration due to age on the richly colored trim and very-tight fully-intact nylon strings. Finally, there are a couple of very small black-colored spots on the side of the slender wooden neck. While it might be possible to remove the small spots with a somewhat harsher cleaning method, it would almost certainly dull the sheen of the surrounding surface.

The decorative possibilities for this beautiful Wilson Pro Strata-Bow squash racquet are many. The display case or collectibles shelf would be enhanced by the addition of this "Made In U.S.A." Wilson Pro squash racquet. Also, the feature wall would welcome this wonderfully aged and slightly distressed squash racquet for its rich burgundy-red, black, and off-white to white trim along with its slender gold-colored wooden body. The gorgeous Wilson Pro wooden squash racquet weighs approximately 9 oz.

The Wilson Pro round-head design wooden squash racquet measures approximately 27" in length from tip to tip x 8 1/8" wide across the head from outside to outside x 1 3/16" thick at the butt of the handle and 9/16" thick at the head.

The butt of the handle measures approximately 1.5" wide in diameter across from outside to outside.

The opening/surface area of the head measures approximately 7 1/8" across from inside to inside x 7 7/8" tall from inside to inside.

The shaft measures approximately 18" in length from the butt end of the handle to where the white neck section meets the burgundy-red laminate.

The slightly distressed and aged black leather-wrapped handle section measures approximately 7.25" in length.
