Really Big Dinosaur outlet Egg/Bowl #117

Legend has it that in the late 16th century, three brothers and yak herders named Yangkey, Dhundup, and Kunchok began to return home to their village through the mountains after a long night of celebrating at a wedding. It was dark when they began their journey, and they mistakenly veered off of their path while deep in the mountains, finding themselves hopelessly lost until morning came. When they awoke, they found to their chagrin that they had been sleeping in a field full of very large eggs protruding from the ground. Believing them to be magic and bringers of good fortune, they stuffed as many as they could carry in their packs and found their way out of the mountains and to their home village. There the eggs stayed, hidden in a cave and kept as a closely guarded family secret for hundreds of years. Eventually, hundreds of years later, Lhamo, a descendant outlet of Dhundup, made his way to San Francisco from Tibet with a trunk of eggs and began quietly selling and trading them to finance his education to be a doctor. My great great grandfather was in San Francisco during this time and was able to procure a number of these beautiful specimens from Lhamo. They have been passed down to me, and I now wish to share their beauty with the world. Each of my sculpted eggs is a copy of one of Lhamo's eggs, sharing both the beauty and the ability to bring good fortune of the originals.


Sculpted Large Dinosaur Egg Bowl finished with Gold metal leaf on the inside of the shell, and a hand painted outside in multiple colors with copper and gold leaf gilding over the painted surface. All surfaces receive a clear gloss protective finish. Each egg is unique and one of a kind. This Large sized egg is 250mm (10") long x220mm (8 1/2") wide x 110mm
(4 1/4") deep. Can be used as a candle holder,decorative bowl, table piece, dry serving roll bowl for the holidays,(use a decorative table cloth to protect the inside surface) or just admire its beautiful shape and colors as a conversation piece!
