The PocketMesh R Mini is a highly portable, low power, off-grid communications node ready to integrate into your mesh network. Get two or more to start your own mesh using the Meshtastic LoRa mesh network platform! It's compatible with existing Meshtastic nodes.

This fully-assembled LoRa radio comes out-of-the-box ready to use, including the latest version of the Meshtastic firmware. The PocketMesh R Mini is built using durable ASA plastic, making it UV-resistant, heat resistant and best of all water-resistant. This is a rugged device you can take almost anywhere; it's small enough to put in a pocket or clip to a pack. A wide selection of colors and patterns are available, and you can personalize your device with a call sign or name free of charge!

*Weather and Water-Resistant!*
This case is designed to resist splashing water and rain; however, our extensive testing included water submersion tests under six inches of water for five minutes, with the PocketMesh kit remaining dry for the duration of these tests. Because of this, we are confident PocketMesh is safe against splashing and rain if the case is closed and undamaged. If it is submerged, we highly recommend the device be powered off, thoroughly dried off, disassembled, and allowed to air dry for at least 48 hours before reassembling and powering it on. *Note: this device has not been tested for use in saltwater.

*What is Meshtastic?*
Meshtastic is a peer-to-peer technology that facilitates text-based communication with radio signals using the popular long range (LoRa) standard instead of relying on cell towers and WiFi networks. It operates using unlicensed (open) frequency bands to transmit messages between nodes on a mesh network over long ranges. This is true peer-to-peer; you don't need a gateway or any other equipment but you do need at least two nodes to communicate. Users can choose among multiple channels, combining the best balance of distance and speed for your environment. PocketMesh users can communicate with everyone in their mesh, set up teams for private group chat, or even send direct messages to specific people all using private, encrypted meshes.
