Product code: British Sea Service – .70 CSA – outlet Port Hudson

Excavated bullet used by the Confederates, specifically associated with sites occupied by Louisiana troops. The lead bullet was excavated from the Port Hudson Battlefield in Louisiana. Most likely a product of some Confederate arsenal or imported from England, this bullet has unfortunately acquired the name, “British Sea Service bullet” from an early reference book. The bullet used a paper cartridge which has not survived in the ground. The outlet white patina is due to oxidation in the ground.

It comes as shown with description. The hinged plastic box size is 2” x 3” x 1” deep.

All of the artifacts are guaranteed to be original Civil War issue or as stated. A hand signed and dated “Certificate of Authenticity” will be issued by Collectors Frame with a photograph of the item/s purchased.
