Miss America Magazine; Vol 4, 1 (#19). Golden Age Teen Magazine/ Comic Book. outlet FN (6.0). May 1946. Miss America Publications (Timely Comics)
Miss America was a Teen Magazine Launched by Timely Comics in 1944. By 1951, to magazine became a Patsy Walker comic, and eventually it was re titled in 1952 as Miss outlet America Comics. This issue is Vol 4, #1, but also can be counted and #19. Miss America was similar size to golden age comics but with 60+ pages, with newsprint interiors mostly in black and white. It of course features a 8 page Patsy Walker comic in the middle, some early Patsy Walker. There are not creator credits but it looks like Ruth Atkinson art. Additionally there are tons of articles, fiction, crafts, and fashion catered to 1940's teenage girls.
Book is in FN (6.0) condition and one of the nicest Miss America's I have seen in a long time. It has gorgeous color. and nice gloss, it has very minor spine stress. It has slight over all foxing/soiling. The top edge has ever slight wear toward the middle. Interior pages are white to off white, supple, and defect free. Item lie flat, and is tightly attached. These magazine were made on cheap, and not many of them survived in this kind of condition today, as they were pretty fragile. This one could be cleaned and pressed and maybe get close to a low to mid VF (8.0) condition.
Item has been bagged, boarded, boxed, and stored in a climate controlled, smoke free environment. It will be shipped priority mail and full insured.
