This bracelet is made from a genuine Ammonite fossil and Sterling Silver European 4 in 1 Chain Maille.
The Ammonite fossil is surrounded by a Sterling Silver bezel and measures approximately 1"/2.5cm in diameter.
The chain maille segments are made using Sterling Silver 5mm rings and the width is approximately 0.39"/1cm.
The bracelet is approximately 7"/17.8cm in length and has a Sterling Silver Lobster clasp.

These ancient cephalopods are a family of several different species, but the ones most commonly known as Ammonites existed from 450 million years ago and died out at the end of the cretaceous period, 66 million years ago.
Their name is said to derive from the god Amon who wore ram's horns, which do look similar to ammonites.
In mediaeval times, before ammonites were understood to be cephalopods, they were thought to be snakes which had turned to stone and were known as "snakestones".
Ammonites are one of the most recognisable and well-loved fossils.
