Solid Australian white opal outlet cabochon. This loose gemstone is cut into an uneven triangle shape with rounded edges and displays a lovely play of colour in a broad flash pattern.
Please note that the back of the stone shows traces of matrix (pls. see all listing pics).
This is a natural, untreated solid opal, NOT a doublet or triplet.

Due to its hardness, Opal is suitable for all-purpose in jewelry.
Opal (from the Sanskrit "upala" meaning jewel) is a form of Silica with water content usually ranging from 6 to 10%. Opals are mainly found in Australia, Mexico, the United States, and more recently in Ethiopia.
Opal is the birthstone for the month of October.
