SHAFT Movie Poster -- Original, Australian, 1971. SCARCE. This is the Australian edition of outlet one of the most--if not THE most famous Blaxploitation-era film. This powerfully colored poster has graphics unique to itself, much more attractive than the American version. It has numerous closed tears, but is fully complete. This was a very interesting film featuring the exceptional music of Isaac Hayes, Richard Roundtree's powerful performance in the lead, all brought together under the well-honed direction of Gordon Parks. The film was a great addition to the private eye genre and the relationship of the PI with homicide detectives. It also illustrates the interesting historical concept that a full articulated Black film would elicit exploitative characteristics.
