Art Nouveau Wooden Storage Boxes Designed in Pyrography- Baby and outlet Mother and Beautiful Woman with Flowers - Early 20th Century
I'm pleased to offer this set of 2 Art Nouveau wooden storage boxes. The larger square box has a beautiful Art Nouveau design of a woman with long hair and a beautiful headdress, surrounded by flowers on top as well as on the inside lid. The smaller rectangle box has a baby holding her mother's face, with leaves and scrolls surrounding the cameo on top as well as on the inside lid. The designs outlet has been applied by pyrography. Both boxes were made by Wizard for L. F. Grammes & Sons located in Allenton, PA. These boxes held everything from ties, hankies, jewelry and baby items.
Date: Early 1900's
Measurements:
Small Rectangle Box: 6" in width, 2 3/4" in depth, 2" in height
Larger Square Box: 7 3/8" square, 1 1/2" in height
Condition: Beautiful Condition. Please Note: The darker pyrography color is more pronounced on the sides and inside - probably due to the wear of stacking the boxes during their lifetime. Also, there is one little sliver missing behind one of the hinge nails on the smaller box, but it works well. It looks as if someone replaced this nail. Please see photos.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Additional photos will gladly be taken upon request.
