A nice deep rich green rainforest jasper in a tear drop shape. It is electroformed right into a leaf shaped copper setting. The back has a nice bunch of leaves with brass stems.
Electroforming is a chemical and electrical process of applying copper to an object. This was a brand new medium for LHS in 2021.
Copper is a beautiful metal but can leave green or dark marks on your skin, especially if it gets wet. It can also cause rashes on some sensitive people. To prevent this, do not wear anything copper close against your skin all the time. (This mostly applies to rings, not necessarily pendants) Or, create a barrier with something like clear nail polish, clear acrylic or a wax. This may need to be reapplied over time as they will wear.
I cannot take copper items back due to allergies.
This cabochon was chosen, cut, shaped and polished by me in my basement studio. Some stones are more fragile than others, if this arrives broken or damaged please let me know ASAP.
Most of my cabs are free form in one way or another. Calibration just isn't my style. Sometimes I leave shallow and stable cracks, pits, vugs etc for a more natural or organic look. I have no desire to work with unnatural stones. Anything that is fake, dyed, heat treated and/or stabilized is off my radar. I make very few exceptions, and when I do I will always communicate it to any buyer. I strive to know exactly what kind of stone I am working with each time. Sometimes I just do not know, and I will also communicate that. Sometimes I can only pass on the info I received on my stones. I get the majority of my stone material from Ebay and gem and mineral shows.
I am 100% self taught at lapidary and I know that one never stops learning. If I ever get the chance to take a class from a professional, I will definitely jump at it. That being said, I do not sell any cabs that I would not buy myself.
