This puzzly is “Fruit Still Life in a Landscape” by Severin Roesen painted in circa 1862-1872.
The landscape in the painting is an unusual feature that adds a dramatic note. Roesen's adoption of landscape backgrounds is thought to reflect the taste, inspired by the English Pre-Raphaelites, for still-life compositions in a natural setting.
Roesen uses the trompe l'oeil device of having fruits and leaves overhang the edges of the table, but this confuses the sense of space within the painting; the predominant appearance is that of a single wall of fruit, which enhances the painting's decorative character. It is on display at the LACMA, Los Angeles.
It contains 500 quality wooden jigsaw pieces including Victorian style whimsical shapes. It measures 510mm by 360mm (20”x14”) once complete.

We use sustainably sourced 3mm thick outlet wood as the base of our puzzly and the image is printed using a Giclée printing process to ensure deep colour depth and vivid detail. Our finishing process produces a textured finish to the puzzly to give it that premium quality.

The puzzly is scratch and water resistant to ensure it remains an heirloom that is passed on for generations to come.

Each puzzly comes in a bleach free cotton bag and is boxed in our designed, printed and hand assembled packaging that is made from 100% recycled card stock.
