Vintage 1930s Compact Shields Cameo Compact outlet Enamel Compact Powder Compact Rouge Compact Mirror Compact Art Deco Compact Excellent Condition

This is a circa 1930s Shields Cameo Compact with Powder, Rouge and Mirror in Excellent Condition. On the outside, the top features a raised engine turned rope design clustered into two sets of three vertical stripes and a centered square which forms a frame around the raised carved cameo. The remaining field is filled with light brown enamel. The four sides are all a shiny gold tone finish. The bottom is satin gold tone finish. Inside, the upper glass mirror has some very slight age related haze near the upper left side; but your image is still crisply reflected. The lower compartment includes the original rouge and rouge puff, and a hinged door covering the loose powder well and the original hallmarked powder puff. The cover door has an ornate engine turned design of wavy lines grouped into vertical stripes with the logo "SHIELDS" in the center. Overall, this compact is in excellent condition. There are no nicks, dents, dings, rust or corrosion anywhere. In addition to the mirror haze mentioned, the only other imperfections I can find are some age related light scuffing to the bottom and a very tiny dimple near the center of the bottom (see Photo #3). Otherwise, this piece would be in near outlet mint condition. It measures 3 inches across by 2 3/16 inches deep by 7/16 inch thick.

This pretty Shiends Cameo Compact would make an outstanding addition to someone's collection of 1930s Art Deco womens vanity items, a stunning display piece, or a very thoughtful gift to a collector.
