These Knotty Alder Tabletops are truly one of a kind and will be a beautiful addition to your home! Alder is known to be evenly textured, with a subdued grain pattern, and has a moderate weight and hardness. Because of its uniform, small pore structure and consistency of color, alder is a preferred wood for finishing. The wood is milled on site using a band style sawmill and then stored in a wood kiln to dry out. Once the drying process is completed the tops are glued together and run through a planer. From there they are sanded and depending on the color finish they are stained and lacquered to protect the wood and make for a silky-smooth finish. These tops are made out of solid wood and feature natural holes, knots, and swirls to add outlet to its beautiful uniqueness. Each one is different from the other, but we can match pieces fairly close to make table sets. The tops are 1 5/8" thick and are available in different sizes and 3 different colors! Buying your own wood top allows for you to build your own table and either use wood legs or metal.
