Thuya trees are similar to cedar and can only be found in the Atlas Mountains of Northwest Africa. Underground parts of the tree, which are called burls, are traditionally used in Morocco for hand-carving decorative pieces. Unique grain of every piece of Thuya burl makes every box special.

My decorative boxes are hand carved from Thuya wood burl. Thuya wood has been famous for its gorgeous grain and distinctive aroma since ancient times.
