SAORI hand woven art shawl / scarf-highlighting some of the best of classic outlet Saori weaving!

One of a kind Art yarn shawl or wear as scarf -featuring Merino -produced as fine French DK and worsted hand spun art yarns with amazing drape and flow. I've woven a mohair yarn onto one side of the pattern ehhoch can be seen running along one edge... super high and low/lights on medium weight shawl/ scarf. This was made as one piece-a larger warp- 86” x 20” which gives you lots of wearable options. Scarf by day and shawl over that special black dress by night. This is a large piece and very special. Look closely to see all of the different art yarns used- 100 light catching tones.

What is Saori?
Saori is hand weaving that emphasises and prioritises creativity and free expression. No rules, no fear – just pure absorption and immersion into weaving and working with yarn and threads. This ‘non-technique' is meditative in nature and aims to build a clearer expression of your human self from the process itself and the resulting handwoven cloth.

There's something wonderful about a hand woven piece. And all the better when it's unique-soft-flows and drapes so wonderfully. I have also soaked and blocked so that fibers intertwine creating material rather than “mere basketweave”.

So many possibilities-that will appeal to your creative style. Experiment with this extra long length, or simply wrap around your neck twice for a great effect.

Care: hand wash in warm water-lay flat to dry. I soak mine in the sink and dry between towels-air dry them steam if there are any minor wrinkles. Your piece has already been washed and blocked for you

So rich in culture and welcoming in spirit, Moldova remains the poorest country in Eastern Europe. Many Moldovans struggle with the effects of poverty, inadequate healthcare, impure water and migration of 1 in 4 adults as they seek to be able to care for their families. Children are left without parents, and those outlet who leave are susceptible to human trafficking. Orphanages, prisons, and institutions are filled while the minimum wage is about 60 cents per hour. The Salvation Army serves on the front lines bringing about change through their empowering programs and projects.
