*** Proceeds directly benefit conservation of Longleaf Pine ecosystem ***
This Longleaf limb section has a groove in it where it grew with another branch rubbing against it. It was a weathered branch cut off a lightning struck tree that my uncle harvested for his sawmill more than 30 years ago. It's been on the ground failing to burn up and failing to rot this whole time because it is pure crystallized pine resin. It feels like a rock in your hand it's so dense. I polished it up and waxed it. It's suitable to hold a fountain pen on its side when you want the nib to stay wet. Could also hold your Apple pencil or a letter opener or it can just be a sculptural. You can stand it on end and use it as a bookend.
Finish is my Beachton Butcher Block Blend of mineral oil, beeswax, carnauba wax, and wax myrtle collected from the berries of outlet a tree in my yard.
Total weight: 10.8 ounces
