This copy has, for the most part, clean, unmarked, secure pages that are moderately toned. There are some finger smudges and light soiling as well as few chips and one or two small closed tears. There are names, markings, and erasures on the FEPs (shown). The binding is cracked, outlet so the binding has some give.
There is some fraying, rubbing, and bumping to the corners, edges, and spine ends; there is some soiling to the covers and edges of the text block (see photos). The cover pastedown is in tact, but it has some scuffing.
In this book, the color plates have been pasted in along one side. There is a tear in the frontispiece (see photo), and one of the plates is absent.

The illustrations, both black-and-white and color, throughout the book add charm and interest to this collection of the children's stories.
