In a forest of mostly still-green trees, these handful of orange trees stood out dramatically. Although taken in mid-October while most of the vegetation has begun to brown, this dried, but still muddy, riverbed provided enough moisture for the grass to still stay green and generate a stark contrast to the light orange leaves.

This unique look is not as commonly seen in autumn photography, as most just focus on the beautifully changing trees, whereas this photo perfectly captures the in-between phase, combining the best of both seasons.
