These vintage bookends are featured in Collector's Guide to Bookends by L. Kuritzky (1998) as Plate 77. Kuritzky states they are made of iron with bronze-plated finish and produced around 1930. It appears they were crafted to represent Betsy Ross sewing the first American flag. Bookends measure 4" tall, and 5 x 2" at the base outlet. Both are in excellent vintage condition. Net weight: approx 2.2 lbs.
