Brass Bowl VEB Kunstschmiede outlet Neuruppin Bowl Plate 70s Bauhaus Brass Driven Hammer Blow Gildenhall Design Emil Funk 30s
This enchanting brass bowl from the 70s is hand-driven. This has given it the unmistakable hammer blow look. However, the form and design date back to the 30s 40s. It was manufactured by VEB Kunstschmiede Neuruppin (formerly Kunstschmiede Emil Funk KG Neuruppin). A company stamp is located at the bottom of the bowl.
Emil Funk was a member with his blacksmith at the outdoor settlement Gildenhall in Neuruppin. Gildenhall was founded in 1921 by the master builder and settlement technician Georg Heyer. This artisan cooperative worked according to the principles of the Deutscher Werkbund and the Bauhaus. You also had the basic idea of merging crafts and handicrafts. Among others, the following artists and artisans settled in Gildenhall: the hand weaver Else Mögelin, the ceramist Richard Mutz, the blacksmith Siegfried Prütz, the carpenter Walter Vogt and many more.
The art forge Emil Funk was converted into a semi-public enterprise in the form of a limited partnership at the beginning of the 60s. In 1972, the company became public property and was always district-managed. The VEB Kunstschmiede Neuruppin was initially subordinate to the economic council of the district of Potzdam.
The wonderful patina and the traces of use give the shell a very special vintage character. These are intentional and thus also testify to its originality. Form and design speak for the classic Bauhaus charm.
The bowl is great for storing keys, business cards, flyers and also for serving and offering finger food, sweets and other sweets. Even as a fruit bowl, it is a real eye-catcher and attracts everyone's attention.
