Vintage Small Ballerina Brooch by Frederick Massingham 1949 Sterling Silver Ballet Dancer Brooch DHP outlet 5.04g
outlet This sweet little ballerina brooch is one of a series of ballerina brooches designed by silversmith Frederick Massingham of Augusta Street and Northampton Street in Birmingham and retailed by D. H. Phillips of London. Fully hallmarked as can be seen in my Photos for Birmingham 1949.
The brooches were made in two sizes and this is one of the smaller ones. It measures 2.5cm wide x 3cm high and weighs 5.04g and has a safety chain attached.
In lovely vintage condition so I have not cleaned this as I know some of you prefer it to have the patina intact. This series of ballerina brooches, ballerina earrings etc. were made from the late 1940s until the early 1950s.
It can easily be cleaned with a silver cloth if you wish.
Some of the collection of Fred Massingham's designs are on display in the Jewellery area of the UK's Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.
I will send this to you very carefully packaged via Royal Mail with Tracking & Insurance against loss.
