Outlet 1970s Primitive Asian Pottery Vase - Yellow Buff Clay- Kanji Japanese?

outlet 1970s Primitive Asian Pottery Vase. Maybe this is Kanji Japanese writing? It is made from a yellow clay with dark speckles, probably from iron in the clay. The glaze is unusual and in some light it gleams like a salt glaze, especially seen on very dark brown writing. Would be good as a vase or for kitchen utensils, office rulers/etc, or in the bathroom. Signed and dated 1977.
