I rescued this set of 4 very old, unpainted thick balusters from an Arts & Crafts or Craftsman home, and these are thicker and more substantial than most of the balusters I find. Some very minor cracking, lots of dings and dents, I think these are around 100 to 120 years old. Hand turned on a lathe, each one has subtle variations that show the hand turning in a wood shop. All of the balusters or spindles are in good condition and have sufficient integrity and strength to be used as a table leg or in whatever functional re-purposing you envision. I do not believe these were ever painted, and the old stain has worn in some places. I think they are attractive and artistic just as they are, but I can also imagine them being used as furniture or table legs. This set has squared ends, and the ends are about 2 1/2" thick, the balusters are about 23 15/16" long, and they are strong, sturdy, and heavy, weighing about 2 pounds each, so the box of all 4 will weigh over 8 pounds. In good condition.
