A beautiful, old, hand made Batik from Solo City (Surakarta) in Central Java. Tulis is the Indonesian word used to describe a batik that is totally handmade by "kanting" (pouring) the wax onto the material. It is not made by stamp or by mechanically printing onto the material. This is the traditional and most labour intensive way of making a batik.

Surakarta is a well known batik Centre in West Java. This batik has a classic pattern with a very dark blue almost black background and a pattern with Garudas on brown and beige. It is in very good condition on nice soft cotton..
