This gourd doll was created from two gourds, a cannonball gourd and a body gourd. I have wanted to create an Asian doll ever since I began gourding. Finally this little boy has been born. He has a simple innocent face framed with shiny straight black hair.
His traditional garments have a shimmer to them so they appear to be silk. The top is adorned with koi fish.
He holds in his hand a ceramic rabbit strung with black beads.

Once the designs were completed with the wood burner, I then used Ink Dyes to color the designs and then once completed I sprayed the gourd with a protective sealer which will make the ArtGourd last a life time if outlet taken care of. However, it is best to not place the gourd in direct sunlight.
