A lovely pair of Beswick Porcelain King Charles Spaniel dog figurines. Beautiful mantle dogs in white and gold color. Staffordshire flat back dogs unmarked on the base. They are in excellent period condition, with no chips or cracks. Please note one is slightly taller. The dogs are well modeled and decorated by hand, having the most characterful face.

Decorated Staffordshire dogs is a timeless design trend that has been popular since the 18th century. The Staffordshire spaniel, which has been in production since the 1720s, became the quintessential Victorian status symbol in England and Scotland.

This would make a great gift for collectors of Staffordshire pottery or dog lovers.
