Product code: Outlet 19th century antique Arita Imari 6" x 2" round, handpainted porcelain bowl

6" diameter x 2" tall
Vintage somewhere about 1855ish. It is very lovely. Although most of the gold has worn off the rim it is in incredible shape outlet for being so old. No chips, cracks ,crazing,or repairs. I am not an expert but I consulted a group that knows way more than I about Japanese ceramics and the answer was the mark on bottom says Sei ka nensei, in honor of Chinese emperor Chenghua of the Ming dynasty. It is from the late Edo period (1603-1868).
Ming dynasty was from 1368-1644. Emperor Chenghua ruled China 1464-1487. It is a Japanese snake eye footed Arita porcelain bowl. Attributed and made in honor of emperor Chenghua after his reign. Very good- excellent condition. Most of the gold on the rim is gone and a little inside where fingers would touch. It will not be touched anymore. I am not cleaning it at all. You will receive it just as photographed. It will be wrapped and waiting in safe storage until ready to ship. Please see all the photos carefully and feel free to ask any questions you may have.
