Spalted ash handcrafted carving mallet. I personally split the log, turned the mallet, shaped, sanded and finished through all steps. This particular mallet weighs 16 ounces and is ~10-1/4 inches long. The head is ~3 inches in diameter and ~ 5-1/4 inches long. The mallet has been finished with boiled linseed oil for that hand rubbed satin finish. Please zoom pictures for better detail.

The mallet is one that you will be able to use for a lifetime and is perfect for cutting dovetails and tenons, leather work, or for fine detailed carving.
