Highly collectible vintage pottery mug by offbeat artist Jim Rumph-circa 1970-80 Rumph created many zany,unique items in his short live which sadly ended in an accident in 1993-
This mug measures 5" H and is referred to as the " ogre" or "troll" Deranged looking man on front and inside an equally devilish troll sits on the bottom- tan shaded heavy hand thrown pottery with nice sky blue handles and interior- this piece, as with many Rumph pieces is not signed - but if you are familiar with his work you will instantly recognize it excellent condition- no chips, cracks or color loss
Rumphs works are getting harder to find outlet - this would be a great addition to any Rumph collection or someone who appreciates art that is a bit on the wild side
