outlet Early Morning singer (Talavai-i) hand crafted and hand painted by artist, Jackson. This vintage piece carries a rattle in his right hand, and feathers in his left. He is adorned with feathers and fur on his head and collar. His leather wrap is hand painted and tied with a sash of yarn. He carries a white leather satchel across his shoulder. He is 12" tall, 6" wide and standing on a 2 3/4" round base 1/2" thick. His condition is good for his age.

The Talavai Kachina is also called the silent Kachina, although it sings. It comes in pairs during the bean dance and stands to one side of the procession. It wears red and white which is characteristic garb for many kachinas that appear in the early morning.*
